    Dec 11, 1987 - low of 2.16
    Apr 14, 1988 - high of 2.95
    34.7% increase over four months...

    Dec 15, 1998 - low of 4.63
    May 7, 1999 - high of 7.82
    68.9% increase over five months...

    The chart in both of these instances show an exponential rise.... imagine if you had sold out at those points thinking BHP had had its day?

    The charts can tell you anything you want, but if you buy a fundamentally good company, you will be laughing all the way to the bank in a few years time...

    Despite any change in spikes up and down since, if I had bought 10k of BHP in 1987 (I was only 9 which is why I didn't)... I would be sitting on $141,388 currently. This return averages 69% annually and we haven't even been in a bull market all that time!
