Halal Certification, page-42

Guys, I am pretty sure I heard right and there is going to be a 6 month gov inquiry into halal certification in Australia.

At the moment there are roughly 34 halal certifiers in Australia which basically means it is unregulated and as it seems, anyone can become a certifier. This doesn't make sense as places like Malaysia and Saudi Arabia only have one main body. No one in Australia can guarantee if the 34 or so are not using the money for illegal purposes as no one realy knows where it's going.

Personally, the slaughter of animals in the manner in which they do it doesn't go down well with me. I am amazed that our export market can be closed down but the RSPCA don't broach halal in the same vigour.

Of course I am anti-Halal as well coz I think it is a massive extortion. I don't but halal products like weet-bix, vegemite and Cadbury chocolate and I have emailed the respective companies to let them know why.
