It is extortion clear and simple. Products that have the heart tick , or are gluten free do not have to pay to wear the symbol. It should be the other way around. Halal certifiers should be paying the companies to display the symbol. As for the Halal slaughter, it is shame on the RSPCA for bending over for this primitive, barbaric killing in our abattoirs. I think the method is similar to the Kosher method as well, however the abattoirs ( like other food manufacturers) have not had to pay the discriminatory fee for this. Where are the equal rights for the rest of us who are forced to seek out products that don't pay the fee if we do not want to be forced to support halal certification extortion fees?
