    Lordolean, once again Gunnindi's comment concurs with my thoughts. He's got my attention!

    The other thing that happens is that pulp mills get set up and 'tuned' for particular wood properties. Once in this state, with the mill running well, its chemical engineers don't want to change settings too often.

    The Bell Bay mill will start on E. nitens wood and be optimised for it. I suspect its managers won't want to have too much globulus wood coming in the door (about 3 years after start up) for the same reason.

    I don't think we need to worry about markets for nitens or any other woody material for that matter. The 21st century will be the century for biomass. As well as pulp and paper, lignocellulosic materials (eg wood) will be sought after for its bioenergy, biorefinery (chemicals), and biofuel potential.
