I thought about putting this up in the humour section.
From the half yearly:
"The directors of Sigma Pharmaceuticals Limited have declared an interim dividend of 3.0 cents per ordinary share, fully franked and payable on 19 October 2007. This dividend is in proportion with the prior year interim dividend, given revised full year guidance."
So I thought, not too bad, at least they're keeping the dividend steady. Then I look at the numbers and see the dividend is down 16.6% on the previous corresponding period.
Whoever wrote that part should quit his job and be a salesman instead. "In proportion" -- good one! in my weird and convoluted way of thinking I would have used the word "down". If I ever want to learn how to talk up a spiel I'll come back to SIP for lessons.
