AFL is my second favourite sport Alice.
I was partially converted when the Eagles joined the AFL.
It's what you grow up with and play at schol and the weekend I guess.
The attendances are not as l;arge for NRL as AFL on normal weekends, however end of year and SOO games are huge and sometimes larger than AFL.
The TV viewing is line ball.
Don't know the real reason. Maybe it's just that the AFL is a whole of afternoon experience whereas the NRL is over and done far more quickly and therefore some aren't prepared for the trip and cost for a shorter game of entertainment????
As far as I'm concerned, I am an arm chair umpire now and rarely go to a live NRL or AFL game.
Just old and lazy maybe, or rather I would prefer to keep fit by going to the gym and walking.
