HARDMAN AND TULLOW CALL A HALT TO UGANDA VENTURE: Oil and gas firm Hardman Resources and Tullow Oil, its joint venture partner in Uganda, today said they had cased its Mputa-2 well there and suspended it as a potential future oil producer after finding large amounts of water mixed with the hydrocarbons in the well. Hardman has recently achieved its first oil production, from the Chinguetti field off Mauritania in West Africa operated by Woodside Petroleum. Hardman is also in partnership with BG Group in Mauritania.
