Thanks for the link. The drone attacks look to have been done in broad daylight. Again, one has to suspend all notions of a fortified defense if numerous drones can be flown over it, undetected. How could the IDF not detect the buildup of 1500 invaders, vehicles, tractors, dozers etc. etc.? Are we asked to believe that they have no night vision capability and were all in bed fast asleep?

I find it quite ridiculous that fighter jets, based "only minutes away", would not be buzzing all over the area when said communication was lost. Yet we are led to believe that they just drove off without opposition??? 4 hours! I'm afraid this is just another opinion piece devised to distract the discerning punter from the fact that this was undoubtedly a false flag attack.

Here is another such article from the Washington Post on Oct 9th, painting a similar picture. Are we led to believe that the entire length of Gazan defense was immobilized and only troops stationed in the West Bank could possibly respond?

"The Gaza border, it soon became clear, was minimally manned, and it took hours to redirect units stationed in the West Bank, which has been the main area of focus for the military this year. Palestinian militancy has surged in the occupied territory, from Jenin to Jericho, and Israeli raids have been increasingly common and deadly. Some in Netanyahu’s far-right government had called to annex the West Bank. Gaza, by contrast, appeared stable."

“There was a need for more soldiers, so where did they take them from? From the Gaza border, where they thought it was calm,” said Farkash, the former IDF military intelligence chief. “Not surprising that Hamas and Islamic Jihad noticed the low staffing at the border.”

Appeared stable? Give me a freakin' break! Earlier in the article it actually states that...

Check out this article from the Washington Post on Sept. 21, just a couple of weeks before the attack.

Tensions ‘beginning to boil’ in Gaza as fears of new conflict mount

"Hamas put its forces on high alert recently, stopping cars near the border to check for Israeli infiltrators. The group held field exercises last week with Islamic Jihad and other armed factions, conducting drills on rocket launches, kidnapping soldiers and “storming settlements,” according to local Gazan media."

    and...

"In the deadliest shift, Hamas has also permitted — some analysts say orchestrated — the return of Friday protests at Gaza’s eastern border, where young demonstrators have faced off with Israeli soldiers. On Sept. 13, five Palestinians were killed when they attempted to detonate an explosive at the barrier wall."
