While it's clear that Hamas must rescind it's avowal to wipe Israel off the face of the earth and cease it's use of suicide bombers to kill civilians if it wishes to gain the respect and attention of the International community, it's also essential that The US, Israel et al., must be prepared to keep the communications channels open with Hamas.
