Reports from Lebanon stated that four Katyusha rockets were fired from Lebanon and hit the Upper Galilee around 8:20 a.m. (1:20 a.m. EST) Monday, two of them exploding near Kiryat Shmona. No injuries were reported, but it is not yet known if there was damage.

Two explosions in open areas have been confirmed by Israeli authorities, and Lebanese sources reported there were two additional rocket attacks. No terrorist group has yet claimed responsiblity.

Residents have been warned to remain close to shelters and be prepared to move into them if an alert is issued.

The government and IDF have expressed concern that Hizbullah might try to draw Israel into a conflict to open up a new front along Israel's northern border, while the war on terror is raging in Gaza along Israel's southern border. Defense Minister Ehud Barak said the military is prepared to defend the north.

Last week, the IDF fired several rounds of mortar fire at southern Lebanon after four rockets hit Nahariya and the immediate area, one of them striking the roof of an old-age facility.
