Gaza Report / Monday, April 1

IDF forces evacuated from Shifa hospital after 2 weeks of intense fighting, killing over 200 Hamas and PIJ militants and capturing over 500. Many seniors figures were among those 700. Militarily speaking, this was an incredible deception by the IDF, catching 700 terrorists in one place at the same time. It's about 7% of the remaining fighting power in Gaza altogether.

6,000 civilians were evicted safely from Shifa, which will never be a hospital again. It is totally ruined.

Khaled Mashal, Hamas senior, gave an arrogant speech at a women's conference in Jordan: "The resistance is doing well despite the heavy war. It's a historic battle. It's true, there is suffering and pain in Gaza, but it makes us dig deeper into the fight. We urge the sons of the Ummah (the nation) to join the battle so their blood will mix in the blood of the Palestinians, and we will turn the tide in our favor...

World leaders must make the Palestinians feel as if they are with them together in the battle field. Hamas's leadership is waging a tough war in the negotiations, which isn't easier than the real battle. With god's help we will beat them in both."

Fake starvation: Food prices are dropping in the markets of Gaza. Sugar, oil, meat, flour, rice, even diapers and cigarettes are much cheaper now, while fruits and vegetables remain high. What could explain this?

People are running out of cash money (see the previous report), and sellers must adopt. More supplies are coming in, and suppliers are stuck with extra stocks. There are also attempts by Hamas to regulate the markets and pressure the sellers against over-pricing. The "Central Government Emergency Committee" handed out flyers in North Gaza with recommended prices: 1 kg of sugar, rice or flour will cost 10 Israeli Shekels, just like 1 liter of oil or canned Tuna. Still higher then in Israel.

Hamas intercepted an attempt by a Palestinian Authority force to guard the aid trucks. Hamas announced that the security force entered Gaza yesterday together with trucks of the Egyptian Red Cross and with a green light from Israel. Hamas arrested 10 PA officers in Rafah. Will they be tossed off rooftops, as Hamas did to Fatah just 17 years ago?

If the people's welfare was of any interest to Hamas, it would allow the PA to operate. But Hamas will not easily give up on its grip on Gaza. Talking about the "next day" is irrelevant as long as Hamas is here. Only after Hamas is gone can alternatives grow.

Uriel Baruch, who was considered to be a hostage, was declared dead last week. Uriel (see pic) was one of the Nova party goers, married and father to 2 little kids. Hamas is losing even the little leverage it has over Israel by not keeping the hostages safe, or even alive. Israel will have to recalculate its position, realizing that the number of live hostages is decreasing as the days go by.

    Brand new Harvard Harris poll:
▪️ 79% of Americans support Israel
▪️ 66% say Israel is trying to avoid civilian casualties
▪️ 63% support ceasefire ONLY once hostages are freed and Hamas is removed from power

The IDF has uncovered a new and significant network of tunnels in the Al-Amal neighborhood of Khan Younis during a recent offensive in the area. The discovery was based on fresh intelligence obtained from interrogating terror operatives.

A seventh field hospital will be built in Gaza (see pic) with the IDF's coordination. The hospital will be operated by the UK-Med organization, and will have 66 beds, 200 personnel and plenty of equipment. This hospital and other facilities will help treat the people who will soon leave Rafah, as Israel waits to attack it.

As the border with Lebanon reaches a boiling point, Israel executed one of the most substantial attacks in far away Aleppo (Syria). According to Lebanese and Syrian sources (and unconfirmed by the IDF) the attack included weapons and ammunitions warehouses in a few separate areas (all destined for Hezbollah), manufacturing facilities, headquarters and other military targets. Syrian reports claim the jets fired their missiles from the Jordan border triangle of Jordan, Syria and Iraq. Close to 40 people were killed in the attack, 6 of them Hezbollah men.

The Syrian ministry of defense claimed that rebel organizations took part in the attack. The AI generated picture that you see shows the Syrian fear that Israel found itself an assistant, just like Hezbollah is for Iran. I keep saying in my reports: Hezbollah (and Syria) have plenty of enemies besides Israel. In case of a war with Lebanon should really watch over its shoulders, Israel will be there alone...

Ali Naim was until 2 days ago the deputy commander of the rocket and missile unit of Hezbollah, and was considered a focal point of knowledge in this area. He was eliminated by a drone airstrike. Yesterday he was joined by a senior commander in charge of the anti-tank missile units of Radwan forces (commando).

The third Friday of Ramadan passed quietly, contrary to Hamas's hopes.
