It would be really smart of Hamas if they stopped launching rockets. I hope they do and instead, engage in protest that is non violent but well publicised.
The damage done by the rockets is nothing compared to the brutality inflicted by Israel. I believe Israel considered invading Gaza as a worthwhile activity irrespective of Hamas rocket activity. I expect Israel will want to keep open the option of future invasions. To this end, I expect they will continue to goad Hamas into launching more rockets.
They would never admit it, but Israel wants Hamas to launch the occasional rocket. That's why I say it would be really smart for Hamas to stop launching rockets. I hope they do and instead, engage in protest that is non violent but well publicised.
