I was doing some research today on companies likely to go from looking to doing (losing money to making money). The 15c to 30c type.
Anyway if you look at SPI, 14/10/2009 a director bought a few days before a price sensitive announcement.
In this case you had to be in quick because the SP nearly doubled.
But the extra bit i would add to Horsetraders tip is sell early if the SP is sitting there on hype as in the SPI case, the price dropped a lot some time later,(i.e. no director selling).
or
"if you here the rimour early buy, but sell quick on the facts assuming they don't support the rumour..."
