    The answer is probably in another industry....food. When braindead people decided to put poison into food packs in supermarkets, the manufacturers changed the packaging into tamperproof; these packs cannot be resealed after being interfered with. A shrink or vaccuum wrap option should be available at an airport for those who wish to have added security. That way no drugs can be added or valuables removed. The weight restrictions on flights has seen a move to lightweight suitcases to enable more luggage to be carried. This has played into the hands of the lightfingered baggage handlers here and overseas. A lightweight security cover is the only option.
