I have been watching GGG and IBG for a good 6-7 years, and even held 100,000 GGG at one stage. I saw the endless hoops GGG has had to jump through, year after year, the development milestones constantly missed, and still with not much to show for it yet. Sadly, IBG parallels the GGG experience over the same time period.
As I see it, there is only one economy, China's, with the minerals demand and the willing capital to make these mines happen now. The economic recovery has yet to happen in the West.
IBG is perhaps better placed than GGG because of the looming zinc shortage and the fact that the West is unlikely to allow China to further tie up strategically important rare earths, which America doesn't possess domestically and dislikes having to rely on China for supply.
Wheels within wheels, and serious political forces involved, none of which are widely reported.
