I am short JSE (South Africa) but you have to consider the RAND (currency), it is stable for now, if it goes down the value in A$ goes down so you are shorting Rand and JSE. I cant see big upside Africa is difficult at present.
Basically not sure but am short.
Closed my Japan shorts yesterday as insurance I need more cash in portfolio (have removed cash). Cant work out what is going on?
The big news in America is rich people are getting richer and Obama is aware of this. Methinks this is not good for S&P they are heading to hit Ritchie's who as Koshie says need to spend NOT save! The poor people/ middle class are over their head with debt ala my sister in Perth so cant spend any more. Saving and thrift is apparently bad and has been for 25 years in Australia?!
N Zealand has the best prospects they want a strong dollar because the outside world cant pick uo their assets on the cheap. This was the story in S Africa from 1968 to 1990 and in Australia before 1980 - makes sense to me but not our masters.
Will go long N Zealand exchange longer term. Why on earth would we want a weak exchange rate? Mind boggles with Politian's and economists we need the old economists back.
We need productivity and development NOT spending on junk "feel good" stuff like cars! Just my opinion.
At least Argentina has no choice, my brothers wife is from there people are happier but poor and cant borrow any longer just have to make do.
