Mrs H requires full time care, has done so for years so my social life is non existent. In these circumstances my backyard takes on unusual significance.
I have a qtr. acre backing onto scrubby foothills so a number of critters share my bit of dirt and mostly they are very welcome. Today my visitor was an agile wallaby. I used to see more of them but some dry years may have encouraged them to move on. The first wet season after moving in I heard a bird in boots on my roof so I walked up the backyard [a bit elevated] and saw this wallaby on the roof keeping out of the rain under an eave on a two story house.
