If you believe in animals' sixth sense [I'm agnostic] there is a bad moon a'rising. My backyard is eerily quiet. The seed I put out for the manikins and lorikeets is untouched, just one turkey and one bin chicken and virtually nothing else moving when there is usually a variety of birds during the day. The wallaby in the OP has just shown up, so that's something. She is getting used to sharing the yard with me.
There is a change in the weather from the endless hot, dry days to humid overcast and a chance of an afternoon storm but nothing of note. I wonder what has spooked the birds.
