Original article by Robert GottliebsenRoy Morgan Summary
Haoma Mining is among a number of companies that are looking at new ways of manufacturing 'green' steel, with Haoma doing its research in conjunction with a major university. One of the methods that is being looked at involves a mixture of goethite, hematite and magnetite iron ores; goethite has already been shown to be successful in lowering carbon emissions in conventional steelmaking. Haoma has one of the largest goethite deposits in Australia that do not contain asbestos, along with having substantial reserves of high-grade magnetite iron ore.
