All I can add is that Palladium is a rare element which has multiple applications at present in the automotive industry. From what I have researched, Palladium stands out as the most sought after metal against say Rhodium as an example, where they are used for the same application. This is mainly due to the fact that Rhodium is usually found associated with Palladium deposits but only exists in small quantities. Thus why it commands such a hefty price in comparison.
Since Palladium is such a rare element with amazing properties I believe it will find many more applications into the future.
