The 150-200k minimum (though not compulsory) for cost effectiveness is exactly what I was told by my accountant, annual accounting fees around 2-2.5k, also need to set up a dedicated company and use my regular broker.. I was advised to wait until after June 30 so I don't incur an additional 2.5k in this financial year. If I did decide to proceed before EOFY and the SP moves significantly the 2.5k may appear insignificant.
My Industry fund annual fee is only 395 which is painless, the down side is I only get to play with 20% in any one company and sifting through all the different funds leaves me feeling like a rabbit about to have it's pelt removed while still alive.... not a very exciting prospect...
If anyone's run the gauntlet of the smsf and feels they have the least painful one I'm sure there are plenty of interested folk here if you'd like to share... Esuper sounds like it's worth checking out for sure!!
