    Agreed! Even CommSec's clumsy graphic of 'Buys/Sells' attests to the ready availability of the data which also means it is accessible to some market players [but not all - and yet I naively thought The Market was meant to be fair to all participants].

    Seems that it's OK for detail about normal trades to be provided but not for institutions' shorts - a mysterious, protected species swirling around in a sea of hedge funds, 'market makers' & dark pools it seems.

    Further still, although not up to date we can access major shareholder lists. Of course above 5% changes have to be notified the next trading day. So why aren't institutional shorters required to do likewise & if super funds etc. are loaning out shares why isn't that made known to The Market?
