Moves to launch an Australian version of the TiVo digital video recorder by television's Seven Network have gathered pace.

Seven will use Unwired spectrum which it holds in all Australian cities as it's service provider to launch the TiVo Box.
Optus (Opel) have won the B.C funding to rollout BB to 98% of Australia. And Opel i think will have to buy Austar Wimax spectrum which it holds in all but cities of AUS. Thats where i see a window of opportunity for Reeltime box who also like the TiVo ,needs to plug into a internet service provder and could be great competition as a content provider to Seven (Engin) TiVo. Rural and remote areas are more likely to use a product like reeltime because of distance. They are big consumers of pay TV where reeltime would compete.
