Happy New Year to everyone following AVA. The company seems like it is going into 2019 strong now that the takeover of MSP has been completed and they no longer have to carry the ASX listing costs of 2 public companies. The $15 million contract to protect the fiber optic data infrastructure of the Indian Army (the world's #2 military force in size) is expected to bring strong positive cashflow to the company and may lead to other deals. The most recent announcement of a $2.2 million perimeter security deal for air bases in Asia was actually a $3.1 million deal, with $2.2m in 2019 and a second phase of $900k expected in 2020. With a new CEO & Chairman the deal sizes seem to be getting bigger. They still need to work on their marketing and investor communications, in my opinion. Who is telling the exciting story of AVA?
The US Border Wall is the #1 political issue on President Trump's hands, with a $20 billion sensor technology budget that accompanies the $5 billion wall construction. Trump signed Executive Orders over Christmas to build 119 miles of the wall, so he is taking advantage of less interference while the government is shut down. This is a wild card which could turn out to be very beneficial for AVA, or may never occur for political reasons.
I have enjoyed the ride since getting back involved with AVA/FFT/MSP and even some of the long-time grumblers here seem like they're happy with the performance these days. It's been fun chatting with all of you and I hope the community of AVA enthusiasts continues to grow in 2019. Cheers to the hidden gem of the ASX!
AVA considerably outperformed the All Ords, at its peak of 23.5c it was up 95.83% for the year. For most of the last quarter it has been +80%
