Happy New year greggy2 ..

I used to spend every New Years in a similar manner to the way you have spent your night . Only trouble was ..there never used to be enough trains , Im really glad they have changed that .

Got me thinking about my past years eves , Ill tell you the WORST story . I think I was about 21 or 22 , living in Beaumaris Victoria , we went into the City , It was out of control , dudes everywhere , my friend was punched in the head and a giant brawl broke out , but we got out of that one and continued .

We were pretty drunk , had two friends who were in the throws of becoming doctors , as students they qualified to stay in the commission flats in North Melboure , pretty close to the hospital in which they were working . The flats are set up like a big square , with activity space for all to " enjoy " ..lol , in the middle of the development . This mate and I went to this activity area where some guys/ girls were drinking , everybody was fine , no agro all peacefull , until one of these guys asked me if I had any spare drink , I said I had a bottle of wine in the boot of my car and he could have it . When reaching in the boot , I was kinghit from behind and when I came to I was in the passengers seat with a knife held to my throat , the guy was saying " Ill drive the thing till , it runs out of petrol and knife him and leave him there " , ( 27 years ago , not so many knifes around also ) My mate was lying on the ground , with hand firmly placed on his testicals , screaming with pain ..

I was EXTREMELY fightened .

Anyhow , one of the group ..very quietly basically saved me , he talked the guy down , changed the subject , managed to get me out of the car , and quietly walking out of the North Melb flats ..Then I ran like s*it ..

Ended up in Sandringham hospital emergency with Concussion , when I think later ..I was very very lucky .

I have never since really made it to Melbourne CBD for new years , except for one time we just at the Casino ..lol .. A slight difference to those grotty commission Flats , I still get a cold chill , if I drive past that building !

But ..here to tell the story ..lol ..Its a lot quieter these days ! Happy 2010 All !
