Advantages of a carbon tax:

(a) it lessens opportunity for politicians to manipulate/make decisions (many/most not capable of understanding) about various individual technologies;


(b) it reduces opportunity to reward "favorite" individual polluters - any rewards will be out in the open for all to see;


(c) it certainly encourages - with cost advantage, all of us to each work out how best we can reduce greenhouse emissions;


(d) it will reward those who create and provide the best reduction methods;


(e) carbon tax should start minimalist, when first years figures public for analalysis, we can consider and make informed decision on whether needed, if yes by how much, aa carbon tax should increase; Also then have idea of whether some adjustment compensation required.
