Oil can be sold on the spot market so is always a winner.
Gas has no market...understand the difference. Gas markets can take years to secure....look at Gorgon offshore WA. Discovered in the 70s and still not developed. Oil is like cash in the bank...gas is a very different entity and means a much longer time frame to realise any value at all. Thin oil legs are also difficult to develop economically.
