    My guess is the opposite, the rubbish would have sold and the fines probably wouldn't have met reserve. That's based on knowing how Thai and Sri Lankans operate. They want to sell rubbish to tourists at inflated prices, particularly already fitted in jewellery to enhance the look of the stone and hide flaws. It can take literally days of travelling between four major centres in Sri Lanka and looking at thousands of stones before you find a AAA above 3 carats. They don't like to hold them, it's not their bread and butter.
