    I must confess I hadn't really thought about it before, but I wonder how UCG would go at producing methane compared to the cost of producing it from CSG? They could feed the methane into the LNG refineries that should shortly be springing up along the Qld coast.

    Producing it from syngas would just the first step of the FT process like Linc is doing.

    There is probably no real need for it though, because CSG is so huge in Qld now. The figure I saw at a presentation the other day was that Qld's total oil and gas reserves from conventional sources are less than 1tcf of gas equivalent, while its CSG reserves currently stand at about 30tcf, with CSIRO estimates that there might be up to 400tcf!!

    With those sorts of figures, methane production is probably not the area UCG companies should be looking into.
