It furthermore keeps open the possibility of leg D being leg 3 of the next 5(or 9) wave advance, so only in wave 3 of leg E will the direction be revealed.

I just notice a lot with elliott waves they find pivot points that keep multiple scenarios open. So my guess from here is a 3 wave advance to the rising black centre tine.
