I've done my own research.
The latest buy was ~40m barrels av $77 to replace oil sold 2 years ago at $95 a barrel.
Posting supporting links would be just ignored when headbutting up against the unsupported opinions of @bredred .
Without the SPR sales in 2022, the price of US gas would have been some 40 cents / gal higher.
(The bloke is incapable of staying on topic, isn't he !!)
