@hersuit - semantics - to me they were babies (I had 3) from the moment I realised I was pregnant.
I recently lost middle daughter who was the epitome of what every parent wishes for, beautiful, gifted, hard-working, but lived her life overseas.
So: death is never a good option, but it awaits us all.
I am, in essence pro-life, but looking at the burgeoning humanity everywhere, I do not think we are in danger of becoming extinct any time soon, unless we have a hand in it.
P.S. I have just been dusting off my collection of books scattered throughout the house and came upon some Indian writings who believe that all sentient life forms have a right to life - think that one through!
