The thing is if this plane crashed/was shot down with 300 passengers on board and none of those passengers were Australian then all people really would of heard about it would of been a small section of the nightly news probably on the day it occurred. That's the harsh reality of it, we are often oblivious to these events when they don't directly impact us.
