(i) tristanc showed with his graph that there has been no pause in the warming since 1950.
(ii) I replied that at that rate of warming (1.3 degrees / century) we're not going to get anywhere near the 3 to 4 degrees warming by 2100 that the alarmists are scaring us with.
(iii) tristanc then said that we needed to take into account future tipping points.
(iv) I replied that there doesn't appear to be solid science behind the claims of tipping points - just as YOU yourself have now concluded, bergus. The claims that we WILL experience tipping points before 2100 are no more credible than mere prophecy. So, tongue-in-cheek, I made up a similarly baseless 'Nostradamus' prophecy to "show" that the world will be just fine.
My post is not "discrediting all science because of one unsupported theory". It's discrediting tristanc's claim that we'll get the catastrophic warming because of tipping points by century's end.
