what I find interesting from this thread are thoughts like - internet sales will kill existing forms of retail and we will lose jobs etc. etc.
On the surface that always looks true - but it is evolution.
We have been through small corner stores, travelling salesman, small supermarkets, large supermarkets, massive shopping centres and now online trading.
Have we lost jobs? - no, just changed a lot.
Is online selling a threat? - yes, to some other forms of trading, but a threat like the big boogie that will end all else - no.
It is hard to imagine now - but online selling will itself be surpassed by something else --- god knows what, I have never had the skill to see that.
One thing I do know is this ----------------- people need to shop - I don't mean they need the goods - I mean they need the social experience ------- the way that takes shape in the future is a mystery to me - but take shape it will.
