I think you are confusing the concepts of beneficiation (note the spelling), which typically includes size reduction and mineral liberation (amongst others), with upgrading, which typically involves mass rejection of a low grade fraction and consequential upgrading of the accept fraction. Some ores are amenable to upgrading, some are not. All ores are amenable to economic beneficiation. If they weren't, they'd be pretty hard to define as "ore".
