The author of that twitter post just proves he has no idea what benefication is.
So I wouldn't take too much from it.
Ask your friend, as I know you follow him on twitter, what benefication is then get back to us.
If he doesn't tell you then I will and what a load of drivel that statement is.
Benefication actually comes from the term benefit ie benefits the ore. Reason why most mines have crushers. Mills/scrubbers, screens and in the case if lats thickeners after the scrubbers to get slurry density correct for HPAL Feed storage. This area is called Benefication , so the only way you cannot benefit the ore is to have no crusher, mill, screens or thickener. Also lats post Murrin introduced a second scrubber after the first one and its screen , the screen removesto enable a bit of fine grinding with the addition of a few mill balls. This "benefits" the ore and allows for less retention time in HPAL.
