Maybe shall ask my gardener to use the blower on my filter. In the meantime, I have high expectations of a new filter. Have no space or inclination to buy a blower just for a blocked filter, really. I will simply wash filter after ever use and even buy a second one, if the first new one is OK. Been reading many many negative reports on the Dyson V10 from people who've had them for a while, especially battery life which could never ever be the 15 years Dyson promises even after daily use. They should provide a spare battery with instructions on removing the three screws and replace it, which people are saying is a walk in the park.
Told never to hit the on button while emptying the dust can as it all blows back into machine. I most often empty mine in a bin lined with a plastic bag but outside my home, away from the doors and windows, tie and bin the bag. Oh well, worth trying a new filter to see if that's the problem and wash it far more regularly into the future.
Thanks jantimont and sierra for great suggestions on the fate of my Dyson.
