I would be surprised if the majority of our federal politicians do that. Local councils ? well, they are amateaurs. I am one for reducing the planning powers of local councils.
There are politicians who hold to the higher ideals; some failed as politicians because they failed the "art of compromise" test. The ability to compromise one's ideals in order to achieve some instead of achieving nothing is the art of politics, but I would not necessary call these people scu$bags
