Has cutting red tape bitten Aussies where it hurts?

    Since the darkest days of the Covid Pandemic there have been revelations about rorts including $38 Billion from taxpayers via JobKeeper - one the Coalition refused to pursue.

    It appears that allowing taxpayers money to be rorted by shonks is easier than getting it back from them because the public service has been slashed and burnt to 'reduce costs' to taxpayers and for large corporations.

    But there's more! Recently we learnt of world-shattering revelations about PWC and corporate tax avoidance - a story which is still unfolding.

    Well now there's even more and maybe even a Pandora's Box ... the common denominator for which IMO appears to have been 'cutting red tape' and therefore hiving out public service functions to an unscrupulous private sector and emasculating corporate regulators, the ATO and even the AFP.

    After reading the news article referenced below it's my opinion that tonight's edition of the ABC's Four Corners is essential viewing:
