I regret that I won't be replying to individual posts. except @vinny. who posted:
"what you think should be done when your country is attacked relentlessly. Israel doesn't throw the 'first punch', they retaliate. Israel has never targeted Gaza, Lebanon, Iran with hundreds of missiles as they do on a daily basis. Should Israel just sit back and take it ??"
Israel has played the victim superbly for decades and now makes themselves the victim again.
from the birth of Israel there has bee military conflict. reading Moshe Dayan's memoir of partition the preparations for partition were for war with Arabs. it became a land grab and exclusion or killing of many thousands of Arabs who remained within the final Israel borders.
but the final borders were never enough, now they count occupied Golan Hts, still officially part of Lebanon, as Israel.
so from the outset Israel has been aggressively asserting its right to exist, fair enough, and borrowing heavily from the US and other nations to ensure their superiority. meanwhile Israel flourishes with seeming unlimited water and the best arable land while Gaza was left with very limited potable water and poor land to farm.
Gaza has been left as a ghetto. a large scale prison from which theres been no escape and with very limited access to adequate medical services, despite the number of hospitals the Muslims have built. massive unemployment and isolation induced poverty.
so do you truly wonder why the Gazan Hamas made an incursion?
wouldn't you too be angry and aggressively wanting removal of the constraints placed on your people?
these recent rocket attacks on the sovereign states of Iran and Lebanon, regardless of the claimed reasons, are clearly breaching international law. they have attacked 2 other nations with these missiles. this is extremely provocative, particularly given the extreme tension created by Israel's war of Gazans. (not Hamas, but on Gazan people).
this is like Putin invading Ukraine. its a declaration of War on Iran and Lebanon. Israel cannot legally attack another country without repercussions.
what amazes me is the delay in Iran's reaction. clearly they're aren't reacting but will respond.
