bulldog what do you mean by "company has tried to get shares by way of off-market transfer"? as in a buy-back...
it really isnt that hard to get in touch with the beneficial owners of a stock if they are in a nominee arrangement, especially if you are potentially offering to buy their stock, rather than forcing them to dump on market...
hence i do not believe what you have posted...
