Ps in the event of dividend deferral / reduction, thats the chance you take with any share not just the banks at ANY economic moment, not just these types of events.
So anyone using this as sole source of cashflow i personally wouldnt use their accountant. Although i do feel for their positions. As my personal stance is i hope as many people can make as much money as they can & prosper, why not?
And in this scenario such an adjustment never lasts for ever (a bit like corona). We observed this dividend adjustment on the big miners in the gfc. So really this is market business as usual adjustments, and not an expectation to be taken for granted. Period. Atleast if your a diligent and prepared investor taking onboard both risk and benefits.
