for pure income l started using UMAX about 2.5 years ago instead of the banks and been pretty happy. over time the capital growth has been more stable than the banks and its dividends are not dependent on the underlying companies. is based on the US index but writes options to generate its income. no franking credits but that hasn't mattered so far as it's income to date has been tax exempt. has been great since March. as the income tax exempt it may not be the ideal share in a smsf in retirement?
