Technically, the companies are always better off because they raise the capital from retail investor. If the companies perform well, its good for them and again they're ready for CR. But general public(retail investors) fight with each for transfer of shares at high & low and the story continues. It's like passing the baton or selling your shares at profit or loss to another person. In share market, there is only one winner at a time as it's not sure whether the person buying the shares will be able to sell it at high or not. It's all market sentiments. No doubt, smart people have made millions out of share market.
