Maybe.
But nobody knows if the shorts are naked or paired.
eg. short KAR, long XYZ. Might be another oil, who knows?
In any event it's waste of time trying to guess someone else's position...and then turning that into your own investment thesis. So don't own KAR because you think there will be a short squeeze. Own it because oil is going up, earnings are going up, operations are more efficient, production is trending higher etc etc
