ok the above is at the macro level - but at the micro level - a former neighbour of watso used to host (ie rent out rooms) chinese students .. the chinese students were great ambassadors for their country - and when one of the former student's got married - watso's former neighbour was invited to china for the wedding - and she was treated like royalty - and had a one month holiday - being hosted by the former student's extended family ...
the australian university sector is reliant on chinese students.. obviously these students are exposed to all sorts of influences - and probably are aware of the happenings of Tiananmen square
