What I decide to do is of course my business - but yes I sold a substantial amount - and my sell strategy includes BHP and Rio Tinto. These companies also contributed to the yes campaign. However my reasons aren't totally dictated by whether they donate to the 'yes' campaign but whether they have become dysfunctional (with supporting 'yes' being a symptom of their dysfunctionality). Rio Tinto is a stand-out. It is a strong advocate of gender equity - and simultaneously has rampant sexual abuse. That is Rio Tinto is particularly good at value signalliing and very poor at implementation.

However to be fair to these Companies I also own many shares in other resource Companies. BHP, Rio Tinto and Wesfarmers no longer interest me. In general once a Company becomes political (or woke) I lose interest. Because I own shares in many resource Companies, I diversified into different sectors.

Many people like Companies that value signal, good on them and all the best. It is just not for me, My main interest is good returns on investment (within ethical boundaries). Wokeness is not one of my ethical boundaries.
