"I bought in on Friday with commsec as a T+3 trade. Am I able to sell my holdings before the T+3? Or will I be penalised. Any help in this matter would be appreciated. Cheers"

dngamouse. You can sell whenever you like.
If you bought on Friday, you have to pay on Wednesday.
If you bought and sold on Friday, the difference (loss or gain) will hit your bank on Wednesday.
if you sell on Tuesday, in the bank on Friday.
I am not sure waht you mean by "penalised"
