I am surprised that Howard was not challenged on the timing of deploying our forces, considering that he avoided all answers on the base that his answers would be speculation until after the 27/1 UN meeting. Isn't deploying our forces NOW just that, speculation.

If UN declares its strong opposition to any attack on Iraq, will Howard order our forces back to Australia...or will it be a matter of...now that we are already on our way we might as well continue .. just in case??? (or whatever else they deem fit to tell us)

It is also surprising that Kerry did not argue the recent UN send off in North Korea to be of greater threatto our security. Perhaps he had very limited freedom in what questions to ask?

This was rather frustrating as I thought there are a lot of obviouse questions which should have been brought up.
